DECK THE HALLS
Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito are hilarious as two neighbors trying to put the "win" in "winter" in one of the year's funniest comedies! Determined to unseat Steve Finch's (Broderick) reign as the town's holiday season king, Buddy Hall (DeVito) plasters his house with so many decorative lights that it'll be visible from space! When their wives (Kristin Davis and Kristin Chenoweth) bond, and their kids follow suit, the two men only escalate their rivalry and their decorating. It's anybody's guess whether the holidays will wind up jolly or jostled in this wild and woolly laugh-fest that the whole family will love!

PREHISTORIC PARK
PREHISTORIC PARK: THE COMPLETE TELEVISION EVENT
Nigel Marven is sent to prehistory to bring some of the most amazing creatures to the present day. Here, he and his team care for them in the Prehistoric Park. Through Nigel, we learn about these majestic creatures and about the modern world as well. Adult juror comments: This series is wonderfully created with excellent animation and acting. It is fun, entertaining and imaginative. Great teamwork modeling. Technically excellent. This is what learning through media should be like; mix a sure fire topic (dinosaurs) with incredible animation, add a genial and believable host, mix in actual scientific research on ancient animals and you have an experience with film that children will revisit without prompting. Host Nigel Marvin, a wildlife filmmaker, brings a wealth of knowledge to the show. Broadens global perspective, advocates animal rights and preservation. Almost makes the viewer feel as if he is a scientist and part of the team. Fact and fantasy blend seamlessly. It's not scary; think Steve Irwin meets Jurassic Park. Never talks down to kids and will appeal to a broad age range. Each episode has its own adventure storyline. In #3, a volcanic eruption threatens tyrannosaurs and micro raptors and Nigel must transport them to the park to save them. In #4, Nigel travels to South America to rescue saber-toothed cats from extinction due to climate change. The plots are a device that fades in comparison to the information dispersed about the creatures. Excellent diversity shown with actors of multiple races represented; women have significant roles. Besides learning about dinosaurs, kids will learn about climate change, ecology, animal adaptation and evolution and contemporary veterinary practices. KID JUROR COMMENTS: Loved it. Some had seen it before on Animal Planet but still wanted to see it again. "Wow! It is so interesting." "I love Nigel. And Bob." "I was cheering for them and the dinosaurs. All of the kids said they would recommend it to their friends and watch it again. "Nigel reminded me of the crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin." "The dinosaurs look real. They make cool noises." Kids were glued to the screen. "I kept forgetting the dinosaurs weren't real. I was thinking uh-oh, I wouldn't want to meet up with one of those. Then, I remembered they are not alive any more." One boy asked if this was fiction of non-fiction. This series engaged all of the children and held their interest because of the superior presentation. It addresses environmental issues that kids are interested in and encourages children to think and reason.
