Director: Dalila Droege Starring: Lamont Johnson (as himself) Genre: Documentary
Description: There's something going on in the basement of Golda Meir public school. The loud noises aren't from Frankenstein's monster - it's the sound of tap dancing. Lamont Johnson struggled to be "clean," and tap helped him turn his life around. Now he has the opportunity to teach kids how to release their frustrations and express themselves through tap, so they can return to class ready to achieve.
Water Cooler Buzz: Seeing young minds intently focused, physically active and delightfully expressive in a public school is a pleasure to behold. The tap teachings of Lamont Johnson, and the students' positive response to them, exemplify one example of how yearnings for avant garde education can be satiated while setting the stage for improved learning experiences for today's youth. All by doing a little dance. |
