In-a-nutshell: Santa is in a funk. On Christmas Eve, an uptight author is on TV promoting his new book that denounces Santa's credibility. Feeding into the author's slanderous statements, Santa is too morose to move. His Elf-in-Chief Far finds him sitting on the couch, musing on why no one believes in him anymore. Unable to coax the somber Santa out of his depression, a desperate and frustrated Far must call in the reinforcements and enlist the help of some magical friends to save Christmas.
Director Douglas Attal does an excellent job of taking a concept usually aimed toward children and spinning it into a hilarious story for adults. With his outbursts, rants and raves, Christophe Fluder's performance as Far is no doubt the comedic glue that holds the short together. Santa Closed's crude humor and language makes it a refreshing departure from the traditional and repetitious Christmas stories.
