We at Moving Pictures Magazine are delighted to facilitate debate on issues related to film's impact on and place in our social culture. We encourage you to share your views on subjects that appear on our pages. Please email your letters to editorial@mpgcorp.net.
Dear Editor:
On behalf of the low-income youth we serve, thank you Moving Pictures Magazine for donating a full-page advertisement and a percentage of Feb/Mar 06 proceeds to Venice Arts: In Neighborhoods (aka Venice Arts). We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you.
Founded in 1993, Venice Arts brings professional filmmakers, digital artists and photographers together with low-income youth - whose access to the arts is limited - to nurture their creativity, imagination and talent. An average of 80 professional artists volunteer each year, working under the tutelage of Venice Arts' creative staff, to bring photography, digital and media arts workshops to up to 400 youth, ages 6 to 18, each year. Youth have the opportunity to learn artistic and technical skills directly from professionals (average artist-to-youth ratio is 1:3 or 1:2) using state-of-the-art equipment, hardware and software - all for free.
It is refreshing to see a major film industry magazine like yours that is socially conscious and philanthropic, explicitly working to raise awareness among the industry and the general public.
Again, our many thanks. We will share the magazine subscription with our film students and media artists-mentors, and spread the good word.
Alexa Adamo, Assistant Director Venice Arts: In Neighborhoods
Dear Editor,
I wanted to commend your recent features on What the Bleep (What the #$*! Do We (K)now!?) and Sound (October/November 2005).
What the Bleep has a segment that exhibits the affects of thoughts and words on the crystalline structure of water. Further research from around the world shows that not only words and thought but sounds and frequencies drastically affect water.
The average human body is 70 percent water, and water can hold a frequency much stronger than air. This explains why whales and dolphins are able to communicate with each other from miles apart. Whether at a movie or driving in a car, it is incredible to think how sound frequencies transmitted through the water in our bodies affect our reality.
In March our company, Liquid OM, launched the first frequency infused water. We have a patent pending-process that infuses water to the same frequency as the Earth as it revolves around the Sun (136.10 Hz @ 432.10 Hz). This is a balancing frequency that has been used in East Asia for over 2500 years. While we can't explain the entire process, we can tell you that the process can be scientifically proven, involves the use of precision instruments and helps to bring your body back into balance.
Thought and sound have a major influence in our daily lives. Your features on What the Bleep and Sound go a long way toward reinforcing this awareness. Thank you for publishing these articles! Best wishes, Kenny Mazursky, President Liquid OM Water |
